May 2016

Wow – it’s been a busy few months!

I had a beautiful post-concert meal last night at Café Paradiso in Cork and, trying to work out why I’m so tired, realised that over the last two months I’ve performed:

2 operas
1 music drama in Irish with Kaleidoscope in Drogheda
1 world premiere with the amazing Chatham Saxophone Quartet with Kaleidoscope in Belfast along with some medieval music and Morley madrigals with Laoise O’Brien and Aimee Farrell Courtney, and solo Aperghis pieces
1 Irish premiere with my ensembÉal colleagues Paul McGough and Sarah Busfield with Kaleidoscope in Ennis of a stunning work by Jennifer Walshe for three singers and objects

and I recorded a solo CD of music by Christopher Fox, David Bremner, Gráinne Mulvey and Linda Buckley, to be released later this year on the Métier label.

No wonder I’m tired! – but how exciting
