It’s been a while since posting – been busy – Grainne’ Mulvey’s new CD came out on the Navona label. I also performed in Don’t Walk a collaboration between Gráinne, Mihai Cucu (visual artist) and Ciprian Macesaru (poet). This was a one hour performance by myself, Adrian Mantu and John Feeley with video and prerecorded track. We’re hoping to record the live parts this Summer so that the work can be presented as an installation. This week I travel with Chamber Choir Ireland to Perm in Russia. When I come back it is straight into rehearsing for Luigi Rossi’s Orfeo (1647) which I’m performing with Resurgam / Atalante / Erin Headley in the Galway Arts Festival. Preparations are underway for a solo CD on the Métier label. I’ll be recording works by Christopher Fox, Gráinne Mulvey, David Bremner and Linda Buckley. This is following up from my recent premiere of Fox’s Sea to the West which I performed at a Béal event earlier in the month.
Recent concerts I’ve attended include Joonho Park, The Mornington Singers and The Crash Ensemble as part of the Pipeworks Festival. I also got to The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, also New Dublin and Voices and David Bremner at the opening of the Dun Laoghaire Organ Series.
