I’m so pleased to share the first of my five week series for July 2020 – Find Your Voice.
It’s so important to really take care of our voices and I show you at the start here some of the things I do every time I sing: some movement to wake up the body and get some glide in all the areas around our lungs, some gentle inquisitive sounds mimicking children but also noticing the sounds we all make in our daily lives.
We did a preliminary look into breathing which of course we will look at in more detail as the weeks go on, before heading into some sung sounds, looking at different vowels and how to achieve a relaxed and confident tone by releasing the muscles around the jaw and cheeks.
We finished off by singing through the opening of Louis Armstrong’s great song:
What a Wonderful World.
I see trees of green,
Red roses too,
I see them bloom,
For me and You
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world.
Come back on Thursday 9th July at 5.30pm on my Youtube Channel for the next in the series where I will share some tips on how I overcome “stage-fright” and calm my nervous system down to allow me to share my voice, and show you how you can do the same.
