For the month of November, I’m delighted to be returning to The Model Gallery in Sligo as musician-in-residence. I was last here in 2018 performing with colleagues in Tonnta Music in The Worlding – the opening performance element of Jennifer Walshe’s Aisteach exhibition there.

I’m looking forward to visiting the current exhibitions and being inspired by the Niland Collection as I develop some new material for performing next year. I’m currently working with composers Siobhán Cleary, Evangelia Rigaki and Ailís Ní Ríain on some pieces, and will be developing these further. I’m also performing a really exciting work by Greg Caffrey setting Molly Bloom’s Soliloquy for voice and guitar in Belfast, Dublin, Budapest and Paris next year, and will be using this time to get to grips with this amazing score.

This opportunity came about as a result of an introduction made at NMDX – a networking event organised by the Contemporary Music Centre in association with New Music Dublin.
