I’m delighted to be starting this morning as Artist – in – Residence in Maynooth University, working within the Music Department. I have a number of projects that I will develop through the year, and this residency gives me the opportunity to develop facets of my musical life in a meaningful and detailed way. I’ll be working with others to:
1. develop a performance project and research the history of the Stoney Sisters – Florence and Edith – pioneers in the use of x-rays on the battle field on the front line of World War
2. explore sonic meditations and investigate how my listening skills inform my work as a performer and leader
3. develop skills in writing and in sonic improvisation / technology
